Chloe C.
Private tutor in Broomfield, CO
Education
I received a double major in December 2014, with a B.A. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I graduated second in my class in high school with a 4.2 GPA I also worked in a molecular and cellular biology lab for four years, preforming research on the endocytic pathway within yeast cells.
Experience
I was an instructor of a molecular and cellular biology lab course at the University of Colorado for five years, which has given me great experience with helping college age students with biology and chemistry. I have also worked with all age groups and am a natural born educator. I am a type 1 diabetic, and spend time during the summer volunteering at various diabetes camps. Theses camps range in ages from 7-17 and not only involve taking care of the kids medically, but also involve educating them on how to take care of themselves, and the biology behind the disease. I am a music teacher at the School of Rock in Boulder, teaching ages 4-8. I am also a Volunteer Naturalist for Boulder County, leading both indoor and outdoor lessons in topics varying from geography to biology. Ages taught range from second graders to senior citizens, with the goal being to inform and excite the public about Boulder County's Open Space. I love to share information about topics I am passionate about, and always find a way to connect with those that I am working with so that I can help them see the beauty in these sometimes challenging courses.

Hobbies
Science has fueled my passion for life in many ways because it has given me a lens to see the world that often leaves me feeling like there is magic all around us. I love experiencing all that life has to offer and often find myself outdoors. I am also an artist, I love to dance and sing, play drums, and am currently learning how to play guitar. Really for me every topic is interesting, you just have to put the right spin on it to understand. Sharing my passion for life with others is what brings me true happiness and there is nothing better than that 'light bulb' moment when a student finally understands!
